A look into Android Rooting

"Hey, I just rooted my phone", one of your friend tells you and then you get confused "What's that !".
Many people just root their phone out of curiosity without knowing its applications.
So, lets talk about 'What is Rooting and how it can change your smartphone to a great extent.'

Android rooting is the process of allowing users of smartphones, tablets and other devices running on Android mobile OS to attain privileged control (known as root access) within android's sub-system.
It overcomes the limitations that carriers and hardware manufacturers put on some devices.

Now you might be thinking that what kind of extra privileges you will be getting after rooting or what limitations you will overcome. Well, you can do a lot of stuff after rooting.
Here are some amazing things that you can do -
  • Alter or replace system applications and settings. (such as ChatOn on Samsung mobiles as many people find it unnecessary)
  • Run specialized apps that require administrator level permissions (e.g. Tasker, Titanium Backup, Greenify, etc )
  • Perform other operations that are otherwise inaccessible to a normal Android user.
  • Most important, you can do complete removal or replacement of device's OS, usually with a more recent release of its current OS
  • Rooting an Android gives similar access to administrative permissions as on Linux or other Unix like operating systems
So, this was a quick introduction to rooting. It is the best gift given by android to us.
Make smart use of your Android smartphone.
